As a lover of languages, I have always appreciated a good language instruction book.  This was a thrilling find! It begins in a logical and practical sequence building first vocabulary, then sentence structure, ending with side-by-side conversation. It gives a well-rounded dialogue at any age.

So why is this antique book so well done? Well, it was written as part of a series of books by F. Grandineau, language master to Her Majesty Queen Victory. A private tutor faced with the task of equipping a Royal Monarch to interact with dignity and decorum in foreign languages. That is what makes this book stand out above the rest.

We like to scribe the bundles of vocabulary, building our own sentences, and practicing them during the day, as we imagine she must have.

It should be noted that this is a high-quality Italian dialogue written in Tuscan Italian. Tuscan Italian is considered the purest form of the language and is the dialogue taught in Italian Universities.  So try it out and see if you can parlate con noi
